In-person certification in Auburn, $39.99

Sit down with a Relief Clinic provider at 216 Center Street, Auburn. Wed: 12:00pm - 3:30pm and Fri: 10:00am - 2:30pm.

Two afternoons a week, one door on Center Street

The Auburn office is at 216 Center Street, Auburn, ME 04210, and it keeps office hours twice a week. Wed: 12:00pm - 3:30pm. Fri: 10:00am - 2:30pm. Those are the hours on the Google listing and on the clinic's own certification pages, so plan your trip around them. Telemedicine, by contrast, runs seven days a week.

This visit suits the patient who would rather sit across from a provider than look at a screen. The clinic describes it simply: you will see and consult a Relief Clinic provider directly. The fee is $39.99, the lower of the two Maine prices, and the clinic takes cash and all major credit cards.

Not sure which road is yours? The clinic offers free consultations to help you choose, and you can text (207) 241-2815 before you make the drive.

What to bring, and the one form that matters

Bring your Maine driver's license or Maine state ID. Maine law requires that a medical provider physically see the patient's Maine driver's license or state ID card before approval, and without proof certification will not be granted. This is the single most important item, and it is exactly what the In-Person Certification Form asks about.

The form collects your full name, your phone number, whether you give permission to be texted, your Maine ID answer, and which dispensary sent you, then asks you to declare that you understand and agree to its points. You can find it on the forms page and fill it in ahead of time.

Medical records are not required in the State of Maine, so there is no folder to gather. Patients with anxiety, depression, PTSD or any other mental health problem do have one extra step: they complete the HIPAA form and the PCL-5 questionnaire. The clinic states that it will not share your information with anyone and follows HIPAA.

The conversation in the chair across from you

The clinic's approach is a customized one: in-depth consultations focused on getting to know you and understanding your pain management needs, then a treatment plan built with you to help manage your pain. The owner has said the practice supports medical cannabis for pain relief and for common mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression and PTSD, and that many of its patients are veterans.

Same Day Approval is the aim for in-person visits too. When you are certified, you can go to any dispensary of your choice. Relief Clinic and its providers have no financial interest in the establishment that you are sent to.

If you change your mind about the drive, telemedicine at $43.99 is a text away. And when your certification comes due, recertification works through the same number.
